Terms of service
Last updated:
These are the terms between you and Bookalio for using the scheduling software. We have tried to write them in plain language so that reading them is actually realistic.
What this covers
Bookalio provides software that lets businesses take appointments online. You create an account, set up your services and opening hours, and your customers book through your own booking page.
These terms apply as soon as you create an account or use the service. If you are a customer who only books an appointment with a business, your agreement is with that business, not with us. We only provide the system the appointment is recorded in.
Your account
A few practical rules that go both ways:
- Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them current.
- You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and tell us.
- One account belongs to one business. If you run several, create separate accounts or separate locations for them.
- You need to be 18 or older to create a business account.
What it costs
There are two plans. The free one is meant for people working on their own; the paid one is for businesses with more than one staff member or a longer list of services.
- Free — one staff member (you) and up to five services, with unlimited appointments. This is not a trial: the plan stays free for as long as you stay within those limits.
- Pro — €5 per month — unlimited staff and unlimited services, plus per-staff schedules and commission tracking, multiple locations and fuller reporting.
The paid plan is not active yet. There is no billing module, we do not ask for card details, and nothing is charged — not even if your account goes past the limits of the free plan.
When paying does become possible, you will hear about it well in advance. Features you are already using will not be moved behind a paywall retroactively, and you will never start paying without noticing: you always have to actively agree first.
What we expect from you
Use the service for what it is meant for. In practice, that means not doing the following:
- Using the service for anything unlawful, or to offer services that are illegal where you operate.
- Sending unsolicited marketing through the confirmation or reminder emails.
- Extracting customer data from the system for anything other than running your own appointments.
- Attempting to break in, bypass security, or send enough automated traffic to slow the service down for everyone else.
- Reselling the software or parts of it under your own name without an agreement with us.
Found a security problem? Report it to admin@bookalio.com rather than exploiting or publishing it. We will respond and take it seriously.
Your data and your customers' data
What you put into the system stays yours. We do not use your customers' data for our own purposes and we do not sell it.
For your customers' data you are the controller and we are the processor. That means we only process it in order to run the service, and you decide what happens to it. The privacy statement sets out exactly how that works.
If you close your account, you can request an export of your data before it is deleted.
Availability, and what we do not promise
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise one hundred percent uptime. Maintenance, problems at our hosting provider, or issues outside our control can interrupt the service. Where planned maintenance is involved, we announce it in advance where we can.
The service is provided as it is. Calendars, emails and reminders can fail for reasons we do not control, such as a spam filter on the receiving end. Treat the calendar in the software as a tool, not as your only records.
Our liability is limited to direct damages and capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the incident. If you use the service for free, that amount is zero. We are not liable for lost revenue, missed appointments or consequential loss. This limit does not apply to intentional misconduct or gross negligence on our part.
Ending it
You can stop at any time. There is no notice period and you do not have to give a reason; email admin@bookalio.com and we will close the account.
We may suspend or close an account where these terms are being broken repeatedly, where there is abuse or fraud, or where we are legally required to. Except in cases of clear abuse, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
If we discontinue the service ourselves, you will get at least thirty days' notice so you can export your appointments and customer data.
Changes to these terms
The service changes, so these terms will change occasionally too. Where a change actually affects you, we will tell you at the email address on your account before it takes effect. Minor wording corrections we simply make; the date at the bottom of this page shows when that last happened.
If you disagree with a change, you can close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If we cannot resolve a dispute between us, it goes to the competent court in the Netherlands.
If any provision of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest continues to apply.
